The magnificent rainbow mosque of Shiraz

September 30, 2014

When it comes to stunning architecture, some of the world's mosques are pretty hard to beat.

In fact, a while ago we brought you some of the most beautiful mosques we could find, but we've just come across one that's so special, we think it deserves it's own article.

The Nasīr al-Mulk Mosque, or Pink Mosque, is located in Shiraz, Iran. It was completed in 1888 and got its nickname due to the beautiful pink tiles used in its interior.

Every morning, as the sun shines through the stained-glass windows, the inside of the mosque is illuminated with all the colours of the rainbow, creating an effect that has to be seen to be believed.
