Picasso, Warhol, Dali – icons of Art come to Dubai
Works by some of the most legendary artists ever are being exhibited in the UAE for a limited time only…EDGAR staff January 14, 2015
For a country that's only been around since 1971, the UAE is quickly gaining a reputation as one of the great destinations for lovers of art.
There are loads of options for those looking for their dose of culture, not least the light-based exhibition currently housed in Manarat Al Saadiyat gallery, Abu Dhabi, which features a healthy injection of heritage in the form of two key pieces loaned from the famous Guggenheim Museum, New York.
However, in terms of historical importance, there can be little argument that the brand new Icons of Art exhibition at Opera Gallery Dubai is in a class of its own.
Featuring a carefully curated selection of almost 70 works from some of the most legendary artists ever - including the likes of Picasso, Dali and Matisse, and modern masters such as Warhol, Botero and Calder - it promises to be a spectacular showcase of some of the greatest artistic talents in history.
The exhibition, which also features works from Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Joan Miro, Marc Chagall, Fernand Léger, Bernard Buffet, Robert Longo and many more, starts today, Wednesday August 14, and is scheduled to run until February 4.
It's not every day you get the chance to see works by Picasso, Dali, Warhol and many more all in the same room. Any self-respecting art fan would be mad to miss it. Here's a little taster of what you can expect, but don't just take our word for it, get down there and see for yourself! Details: For more information, visit operagallery.com
