15 actors crazy enough to do their own stunts

It’s not unheard of for a Hollywood actor to cop out and have a stunt double - in fact it’s expected that these people with millions to their names do just that - but certain A-listers demand to take the action into their own hands.
Some of them, like Tom Cruise who turns 54 today, carve a niche out for themselves by insisting on performing their own stunts for all their movies.
Even with safety cables in place, it takes a certain kind of crazy to climb the Burj Khalifa. Cruise even had a stunt double on set who could have taken his place, but the star only asked his double to check the rigging. Over the years, Cruise has trained in different types of stunt work including fighting, fire, explosions and car and motorcycle chases. The danger with Cruise though is that he’s always looking to one up himself. For Mission Impossible: Rouge Nation, Cruise hung on the outside of an airplane while it was taking off.
You probably wouldn’t associate romcom darling Cameron Diaz with spinning cars and beating up bad guys, but that’s exactly what she did for Knight and Day and Charlie’s Angles.
While filming Police Story, Chan leapt onto a metal pole covered in lights, slid down it before shattering through an unbroken pane of glass. Without a camera cut, he then climbed from the ruins of a kiosk he fell on so that he could hold a shard of glass against another man’s neck. Besides that, he’s always done his own stunts for all his movies and even developed a stunt team that often trains other actors to do their own stunt work.
For her 2010 action flick Salt, Jolie trained in Muay Thai and Krav Maga to make sure her fight scenes looked as authentic as ever. She also walked on a narrow ledge atop a 12-storey building.
Ever since his first movie, Statham has been doing his own stunts. Although it’s something he can’t find a way to get out of, the former diver for the British National Team condemns superhero actors who do not do their own stunts.
Chloe Grace Moretz
At an age where most kids are just hoping they get their letter from Hogwarts, Chloe Moretz could have become an assassin. While regular 11-year-olds played with action figures and the like, Chloe was doing butterfly spins with her knives.
While he may not be the most charming Bond to grace the screen, Daniel Craig sure is the toughest. He leaves the most difficult stunts to the pros but puts in a shift wherever he can. The clip above of Bond jumping off a crane and chasing the bad guy is all him.
Don’t scoff at the Twilight star making the list. Apart from pulling off menswear better than most men, Kristen Stewart can emasculate men by doing her own stunts – even if it means overcoming her fear of horses.
Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone
Despite being over 60, these two still take great pride in doing their own stunts. While The Governator has been known to use stunt doubles in certain instances, Stallone has a health record that proves otherwise. He’d rather go into intensive care after taking one punch from Dolph Lundgren while filming Rocky IV than let someone else do the filming.
Before he was cast away on Mars, Matt Damon made a name for himself as Jason Bourne. Besides training for the hand-to-hand combat bits, Damon performed a lot of his own driving and underwater action sequences.
