Jazz it up – Sting and Santana are in town

Dubai Jazz Festival begins this evening, with Toto, David Gray and Chris Botti appearing across the weekend.

February 24, 2016

Dubai Media City Amphitheatre is the tranquil setting once again for the Dubai Jazz Festival, taking place over the next few days.

Probably the most suave music weekend of the year, the festival will open this evening with Toto, who had hits with Hold The Line, Africa and Rosanna in the late 1970s and 1980s, alongside British indie champs James.

English singer/songwriter David Gray appears Thursday as does Grammy winning trumpet player Chris Botti, who’ll be joined by none other than music legend Sting, returning after his Thursday night headline slot last year.

And how do you top 2015’s Friday headline act John Legend? By bringing back 2014’s Friday headline act obviously; guitar icon Santana will close the festival on the 26th.

To get you in the mood and sing-along ready, here are some classics from the acts performing this weekend.
