Fashion Forward Dubai Unveils Second Male Designer For Season Three

April 1, 2014
The previous two seasons of Fashion Forward (FFWD) – Dubai’s answer to the fashion weeks of Paris, Milan, New York and London – were somewhat lacking in the male designer category. But this season for the first time there will be more than one menswear brand as Velsvoir, a specialist in bow ties and pocket square, joins The Emperor 1688. Ennio Capasa, the designer and creative director of CoSTUME NATIONAL, will also be flying the men’s flag at Dubai's Madinat Jumeirah. Where FFWD has really made a step up this season however is in the celebrity department. One of the world’s most sought after ‘it’ girls, Alexa Chung, will be attending – the same Chung who your wife’s Mulberry bag is named after. The former TV presenter, who is unquestionably FFWD’s most high profile celebrity endorsement yet, will take part in a Q&A session during the week. What did we learn? Polka dot ties are in, lapel braces are always acceptable and even denim jackets can be home to a gavroche. Read our interview with them here.
