Get Your Eden Rock On With Oetker Collection

May 5, 2014
If you’ve heard of Oetker Collection – or better still if you’ve stayed at one of their resorts – then you know there aren’t many hotel chains in the world that better define the three principles of quality, exclusivity and privacy. Names such as The Ritz-Carlton and Four Seasons have been the benchmark of luxurious private resorts for the last couple decades. But with its stable not yet in double figures and given the locations of its ‘Masterpiece Hotels’, Oetker Collection has a good case for claiming it’s the most special of the lot. If the name means something to you then you’ll be pleased to hear that the brand has announced its eighth property: Eden Rock on St Barths in the Caribbean. Dating back 70 years, Eden Rock was already an exclusive hotel on a very exclusive island. Becoming part of Oetker may well send the hotel into its own stratosphere of elite-ness. Eden Rock1 The unveiling adds to Oetker Collection’s growing portfolio of high-end luxury properties, following on from the opening of Fregate Island Private in the Seychelles last year and L’Apogée Courchevel in the French Alps in December. Frank Marrenbach, CEO of Oetker Collection, had this to say: “Eden Rock - St. Barth’s, Fregate Island Private, L’Apogée Courchevel, and every location – all the way back to Brenners Park, Baden-Baden, where the collection was founded in 1923 – represent for us an opportunity to show our guests originality and comfort that they cannot find anywhere else in the world.” Speaking to sources at Oetker Collection, EDGAR learned that the group has been looking for a location in the UAE for some time, with a deal in Abu Dhabi previously falling through. The group is now eyeing Dubai for its first UAE property, with a location on The Palm Jumeirah having already been scouted. Oetker Collection’s other havens of tranquility include: Brenners Park-Hotel & Spa, Baden-Baden, Germany; Le Bristol Paris; Château Saint-Martin & Spa, Provence; Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, Cap d’Antibes; Palais Namaskar, Marrakech.
