McLaren reveals first image of P1 GTR

August 5, 2014
The saying 'good things come to those who wait' doesn't always ring true. In this case, 'great things come to those who wait impatiently' would be more appropriate. One month after we told you McLaren was planning to launch a GTR version of its sold out hypercar the P1, the British luxury marquee has revealed its first rendering of the track-only racer ahead of its global debut. The $3.4 million P1 GTR will be the jewel in the crown at the 2014 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in California on August 16, though as the model doesn't go into production until June next year, it will only be in its design concept form. Owners of the car - there won't be many - receive not only the keys but also access to the technologies, resources and expertise that McLaren and it's F1 arm are famous for. The price tag also includes entry to a minimum of six international drive events at some of the world’s best-known Formula One circuits. Details: visit pebblebeachconcours.net and mclaren.com
