The most powerful Jaguar ever
June 26, 2014
Yesterday we told you about Range Rover's plans to unveil their fastest ever model
at the Goodwood Festival of Speed (FoS) this weekend.
But that may not be the most eagerly anticipated debut at FoS as Jaguar plans to show its new F-Type Project 7 - the brand's most powerful production model to date.
Powered by a tuned-up version of Jaguar's snarling 5.0-litre supercharged V8, the Project 7 churns out 567 horsepower and 680Nm of torque, propelling it from 0-100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds and on to an electronically limited top speed of 300 km/h.
Performance is helped even further thanks to major weight loss with the Project 7 weighing 80kg lighter than a standard F-Type, due to extensive use of carbon fibre, so it corners with all the agility of a turbocharged housefly.
Jaguar has committed to building only 250 of these beautiful, retro-inspired models, and with collectors in Europe, America and the Middle East already showing a strong interest, you'll have to get your skates on if you fancy one.

The first Project 7 prototype made its debut at last year's Festival of Speed, but since then design chief Ian Callum and his team have completely redesigned the front and rear in order to achieve more efficient aerodynamics and much more downforce, giving it what should be superb grip.
Also changed from the original concept is the addition of a passenger seat, so you won't have to leave your missus behind when you take it out for a spin.
The price? It's expected to go for around AED 850,000, with the first models reaching customers by summer next year.
