Your Chance To See Dali's Missing Masterpiece

June 6, 2014

In the last few years Abu Dhabi has been determined to make a name for itself in the art world, not least of all by announcing its own soon-to-be Guggenheim and Louvre museums. And in August it will take its claim one step further as it displays an original masterpiece by legendary artist Salvador Dali for the first time in the Middle East. The piece by the Spanish surrealist painter (above) - created in New York in 1944 for his ballet Tristan and Isolde - went missing shortly after its completion, only coming to light in 2010. It will serve as a backdrop to contemporary circus act La Verità - a tribute to Dali's life - as it holds a residency at Abu Dhabi's National Exhibition Centre. The UAE display of the 9x15 metres artwork follows on from an original Dali that was shown at The Big Picture exhibition in Dubai last month. So if you missed that one, consider this a second chance. Details: La Verità is on at ADNEC from August 20-August 30. Visit for tickets.
