10 things McGregor said at his recent Q&A session

"Seriously, he (Floyd Mayweather) is a malteser with eyeballs." Conor McGregor is the king of trash talk.

Conor McGregor is a renowned mixed martial artist. Some would even go so far as to call him the greatest of all time. The Irish-born fighter is also a renowned trash talker. Every second line he says could be a potential headline. You don’t even have to give him a huge platform.

In the moments leading up to his highly publicised Q&A session in Manchester last week, that is available via pay-per-view here, the Notorious took to Instagram to put those trash-talking skills on display:

As you can very well see, the first fighter to hold two UFC belts simultaneously was hyped for the event. Here’s everything McGregor touched on during the Manchester Q&A session, including the rumours of a Mayweather dream fight.

On his hiatus:
“I’ve done everything I said I was going to do. I just wanted to take a step back, chill, celebrate with my fans… I’ve stayed in the game. I might not have been as vocal but every step has been tactical. It’s only January of 2017 and I’m already the face of the UFC, already the face of boxing, I’m already the face of the WWE and I’m already the face of Hollywood and tonight, I’m the face of Manchester. "

On his fight with Eddie Alvarez:
“If I had cut his feet after the first knockdown, I would have stopped him in one (round). I made an error in the first round, I got greedy. I tried to dive on the KO and he scrambled out the back of me. That’s the only reason he survived the first round… If anything, he made it to the second round that was a surprise to me.”

On the rest of the UFC:
“I look around the roster and they’re not on my level. Right now, two little donkeys are fighting for that interim belt or whatever that shit is. Jose, Max and all those other fools, they’re not at my level… most people don’t know shit about fighting.”

On “his” in-ring strut becoming part of pop-culture:
“Vince McMahon must be pissed. I stole that walk and that walk is now mine. And not Vince, or any of those p****** over at the WWE, will do anything about it.”

On being stripped of the UFC featherweight belt:
“Before I even got the belt they wanted to strip me… All they had to do was ask... instead, they created an interim belt. They gave back the Unified belt to a guy I KO’d in 13 seconds. A guy I dominated is now the interim title (holder). I was almost embarrassed for the way it played out.”

On the Mayweather fight:
“Once we come to a set number that I’m happy with, he (Mayweather’s) happy with — then we go to the customers. Then we go to the promoters, the buyers. Then we get it done. That’s next. I’ll go to Vegas … we’ll figure that situation out, and then we’ll come to the dotted line, and then we’ll go. But this is happening… Look, there’s are a lot of steps to get the fight done, but it’s the fight to make… It’s the fight that people want. It’s the fight that I want”

On Mayweather:
“He’s the scared side, let’s be honest. He’s not trying to have a real fight. He needs rules to protect him. I don’t need rules. So he can say he’s this and he’s that, but in reality, he’s scared s***less. If I decide to just fight him straight up. Look, f*** the UFC, f*** MMA, f*** boxing, f*** sports fighting. Let’s just say we fight. It’d be the easiest fight ever.”

More on Mayweather:
“My fist is bigger than his head. Seriously, he’s a Maltesers with eyeballs. I know every single shot he’s been hit with. I know every single shot he’s been hurt with… Trust me, I don’t care what rule-set it’s under, most people don’t know s*** about fighting. I’m going to teach him true fighting.”

On Ronda Rousey loss:
“I love Ronda. I’ve always supported Ronda, and then when she loses that second one people are trying to make me celebrate like, ‘Now they’ve got nobody.’ That’s the wrong mindset. I don’t celebrate another person’s defeat like that. That’s weak. That’s a weak individual that does that. There’s people that tried to celebrate when I lost (who had) nothing to do with it. That’s not the sign of the champion — that’s not the sign of a true champion. I couldn’t believe it.”

On Nate Diaz:
“Nate’s a f****** b****. Let me tell you why, I had the biggest respect for Nate and I still have big respect for Nick, he’s out doing his thing. But when he took that phone call, that video call of Floyd Mayweather and was like: “hello, Floyd’s fans.” He was Floyd’s b**** that night… When Floyd was on the video call saying ‘you made Conor McGregor tap out.’ He should have said ‘shut your f****** mouth, I’ll strangle you too.’”

On turning down the new Predator movie:
“I got offered the new Predator movie… and the guys came to me and said they want me to be the main guy and everything. I said, ‘this sounds brilliant, how much?’ they were like, ‘not enough’. We went back and forth negotiating, but weeks on a filming set is heavy as f***. The Pegasus thing was easier by comparison.”

On WrestleMania:
“Never say never… I’d love to go into WWE and have a real knock and see what’s what. We’ll see. Conversations are still ongoing.”

On Game of Thrones:
“That was everywhere and I never heard about it. I heard about it once after the Nate Diaz II fight. Harry and Patrick were standing there, new owners of the UFC, backstage, Dana was in front of them saying ‘These guys want you to be in Game Of Thrones.’ That was the only time I ever heard the word Game of Thrones. I don’t know where that came from.”
