How to buy underwear for a woman

Be prepared

Take a peak in your partner’s wardrobe to get a sense of her style. What colours does she prefer? Does she wear classic styles or trendy pieces?

Ask for help

Walking into a lingerie shop can be intimidating, but don’t be nervous about asking for some guidance. Say you’re shopping for a gift and share some information on your partner’s size and style.

Keep it simple

A bra and brief set that your partner could wear on more than one occasion is always a welcome gift. If you’re feeling more adventurous, try something a little different to what she may buy for herself like a silk babydoll or French knickers.

Play it safe

If you’re unsure about your partner’s size, then nightwear or non-wired pieces are a safer bet. A charming camisole, delicate triangle bra or silk kimono are beautiful, thoughtful pieces that are easily sized in small, medium or large.

It’s not about you

Choose items according to her taste, not yours. Show some consideration for her style and comfort.

On trend

Florals are a big trend for summer 2016, whether in detailed lace or bold patterns. Embroidery and delicate lace is sophisticated and timelessly chic. Bold colours on trend this season include blue, yellow, pink, and orange.

The new Rigby & Peller store is at Dubai Festival City Mall.
